Heartsaver, BLS and Defibrillator Training
Irish Heart Foundation (IHF) Guidelines Training for Health Care Providers
Aim: To provide personnel involved in healthcare with the knowledge and skill to recognise a cardiac arrest, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Heartsaver and Defibrillator Training Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Recognise Cardiac Arrest
- Perform CPR 1 & 2 rescuer
- Use of Face Masks & Bag Valve Mask (BVM)
- Use an AED
- Recognise Choking and Treatment
- Know the steps to take to assist a choking victim
- Course Syllabus
- Scene Assessment
- CPR 1 & 2 rescuer
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Adults, children & Infants
- Use of Airway Devices
Course Duration: 1 Day Certification:All successful candidates will be certified in CPR and AED through the Irish Heart Foundation (IHF). Certification is valid for 2 years from date of issue, thereafter subject to re- certification.
