Cardiac First Responder Training
Training to deal with cardiac arrest
Recognised by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC)
Aim: To provide personnel involved in Healthcare or frequently exposed to first aid situations with the knowledge and skill to recognise cardiac arrest, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrilator (AED).
Training Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Recognise Cardiac Arrest
- Perform CPR 1 & 2 rescuer
- Use of Face Masks & BVM
- Use an AED
- Recognise Choking and Treatment
- Stroke Assessment (FAST) and Treatment
- Aspirin administration
- Critical Incident Stress Awareness
- Legal Indemnity Issues

- Basic Life Support for Adults, children & Infants
- Use of Airway Devices
- Choking
- AED Use
Course Duration: 1 Day
Certification: All successful candidates will be certified in CPR and AED use through the Irish Heart Foundation. Certification is valid for 2 years from date of issue, thereafter subject to re-certification.
